The Library, Archive and Museum Services (LAMS) department is looking for an experienced events and marketing professional to join the Royal College of Physicians’ Museum team. You will be expected to develop and deliver an engaging programme of public events including lectures, museum lates, private views, open days and workshops, as well as having responsibility for museum marketing, monitoring and responding to visitor feedback, and administering the RCP Museum’s events volunteers. There will be opportunities to get involved with all aspects of the department’s work.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, develop and deliver a dynamic, accessible and entertaining annual programme of LAMS public events
  • Lead on audience feedback and evaluation
  • Develop and administer the LAMS guided tours programme
  • Manage public programme marketing and publicity, including RCP Museum social media

Experience

  • Strong experience of developing, organising and delivering events and tours
  • Experience of delivering tours and/or public speaking
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Good communication and team-working skills, able to work independently and proactively to deadline
  • Accurate with good attention to detail and problem-solving
  • Experience of providing excellent customer service
  • Experience of managing effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience gathering and utilising visitor data and feedback
  • Experience producing high quality copy for web, social media and publicity materials
  • Awareness of and commitment to maintaining high levels of accessibility, and good knowledge of access considerations and health and safety requirements
  • Ability to work flexibly, including regular evening work
