With nearly twenty percent of our subscribing Members and Fellows based overseas, across more than 120 countries, our international relations are important to us.  The UK has a strong network of doctors around the world who completed part, or all, of their training in the UK and our Medical Training Initiative (MTI) scheme helps to ensure that this situation will continue in the future, thereby helping to maintain the UK’s clinical reputation and the sharing of knowledge in medicine.

In this role you will support the IMG manager and coordinator to deliver our programme of work for International Medical Graduates (IMGs).  We facilitate clinical training in the UK for short periods for doctors from all over the world.  Although some come from high-income countries, most are from low and lower-middle income countries and desire training in UK hospitals to further develop their skills and experience.

Strong written and verbal communication skills are needed to liaise between the candidates, their host consultants in the UK, hospital medical staffing/human resources departments, the General Medical Council and other medical royal colleges.  You will also be involved in advising IMGs who are considering coming to the UK.

You will need to be a confident communicator with good organisational and planning skills, the ability to manage multiple tasks, and a keen eye for detail.  Naturally, you will also need a high level of IT literacy, processing applications through our online portal.

Our benefits including 27 days of annual leave, a first-class pension scheme, season ticket loan (after probation) and much more. In addition, the appointee will work in friendly offices in an exciting new location although it should be noted that currently there will be a requirement to work from home and this could last well into 2021.

For more information about this role and our benefits please view the job description and person specification.

To apply complete the online application form. Please submit your CV and a supporting statement (no more than 2 pages) explaining, with clear examples, how your skills and experience match the job description and person specification. Applicants who do not submit a relevant supporting statement as requested will not be shortlisted.

closing date: Tuesday 8 December 2020
