The Royal College of Physicians of London (RCP) Assessment Unit sits within the Education Directorate, based at RCP North in Liverpool. The Assessment Unit delivers both written and practical clinical examinations for MRCP(UK) PACES, Physician Associates national examinations and two RCP diplomas in specialist areas of clinical practice.

This is an exciting and unique opportunity to get involved in the early stages of a new venture working in a fast paced and dynamic environment. We are a positive, forward-looking and solution-focused team looking for a proactive Examinations Administrator to join us.

Key Responsibilities

  • The role holder will develop close working relationships with examiners, examination centres and their colleagues in the assessment unit to support the planning and delivery of high stakes assessments for clinicians from a variety of disciplines at RCP North and across the UK. 
  • The role holder will deliver an excellent service to all stakeholders through effective communication by phone, email and in person.
  • This is a fast paced and dynamic environment and the person appointed will be expected to be flexible, resilient and be able to cope with the demands of the role.

Experience/skills

  • Educated to A-Level or equivalent
  • Experience of working in an office administration role
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Effective prioritisation and management of workload
  • Able to safeguard confidential information and handle sensitive information appropriately.
  • Able to use general office software and technology and able to learn how to particular software, technology and systems in the assessment unit
  • Accurate data entry and good attention to detail
  • Interacts with staff and other professions with respect for difference and diversity
  • Flexible, resilient and able to cope with the demands of the role.
